Warehouse, handling and storage costs in a single system

The web-based management system built for Consorzio GOAS, which handles goods passing through Genoa airport. It follows every package from the inbound order to the delivery note and automatically calculates storage and handling costs, customer by customer.

The challenge

Goods from many customers, different rules for each

The consortium stores goods for several companies across different warehouses and locations. Every customer has its own price list, per package, weight, volume or surface, and foreign goods need customs data. Working out at month end how many days each package stayed, and how many movements to invoice, was manual work.

The solution

Every package tracked, every cost calculated

Each package has a code and a QR label and moves through precise states, from loading to departure. Outbound orders follow a guided path that ends with the delivery note. Every movement feeds the calculator, which applies the customer’s price list and returns a cost breakdown for the chosen period.

How it works

The life cycle of a package

  1. 01Inbound order

Progressive code, customer, sender and carrier. The customer’s price list is applied automatically.

  2. 02Packages and labels

Weight, dimensions, volume and footprint of each package. Printable QR code label.

  3. 03Stock

Real-time stock by customer, warehouse and location.

  4. 04Outbound order

Package allocation, picking list and guided picking.

  5. 05Delivery note

Generated from the order: on confirmation the packages are unloaded.

  6. 06Costs

Storage and handling calculated per period, with Excel export.
